School year 2018/2019 marks a very special anniversary for our school. On 14/02/2019 we celebrated its 25th “birthday”.
In order to celebrate it in the most festive of ways we decided to prepare special “birthday gifts” handed out to the school on 14 February by each of the classes. However, the gifts were quite out of ordinary, as they were not material, but spiritual.
The gifts involved undertaking a difficult but also very rewarding task of helping someone the children realized needed help. Each class worked as a team. They spent the first semester looking for people in a difficult situation, then planning their help, dividing tasks among themselves and finally being able to fulfill the people’s in need dream – helping them in terms of supporting them financially, buying the supplies they need, keeping elderly and lonely people company, but also looking after homeless animals. They have put our school motto - “The man is worth as much as he is able to offer to another person” - into practice.
It’s the effects of the students’ work which became invaluable “birthday gifts” to our school. The symbolic red paper hearts from each class with a sentence summarizing their “good deed” were placed in the school hall in a beautiful tree painted on the wall. This is our “Tree of fulfilled dreams”.
The film you are about to watch is a moving proof of the fact that it’s always worth helping people.
Dear children, many thanks for your kind hearts and excellent work!
